About the Technology
The technology that we use for a project is the technology that is most appropriate for the environment and for the requirements. We've found that in most situations, Java technology fills the need nicely, be it a large scale enterprise solution, a desktop application, or a program to run on handhelds and mobile phones. Java's virtual machine technology means it runs on multiple operating systems and hardware platforms largely out of the box. The rumors that Java is slow and only useful for toy applications is far from the truth. Today, properly optimized Java runs as fast as similar applications written in C++ or other native languages.
Other programming languages we have experience with and can develop in include C++, PHP, and Perl.
Currently, we don't have expertise in Microsoft's .NET platform. Because Java and .NET solve many of the same technological problems, we've focused and grew our Java experience instead of splitting our time between the two platforms.
